Why should we choose BPA-free water bottles?“Don’t use bottles that contain BPA.This has been a long-standing consensus among Chinese mothers,not just in China but also in health authorities in many countries in Europe.

　　Bisphenol A,referred to as bisphenolpropane(BPA),is an important raw material for PC.PC is the abbreviation of polycarbonate,which has excellent electrical insulation,extensibility,dimensional stability and chemical resistance,high strength,heat resistance and cold resistance,low price and increased transparency and drop resistance.Polycarbonate bottles are reusable and are also a popular container among students.Campers and others also use baby bottles in their daily lives.Additionally,BPA has been found in the inner linings of dental materials,sealants,and aluminum cans for food and beverages.

　　So what are the hazards of bisphenol A entering the human esophagus?

　　1.May cause organ failure,leukemia,or sudden weight loss or rapid gain.

　　2.It can cause excessive secretion of female hormones,precocious puberty,or excessive secretion of male sperm.

　　3.May cause breast cancer,birth defects and other diseases.In addition,BPA has more potential toxicity after entering the esophagus,which should be highly valued and its potential toxicity should not be ignored.

　　Dong Jinshi,executive vice president and secretary-general of the International Food Packaging Association,pointed out that BPA is mainly to increase transparency,and at the same time,it can have good fall resistance and is not easy to break.my country has national standards for bisphenol A used in food packaging.Currently there is only one in China.The current national standard applicable to all PC bottles is GB 14942-1994"Polycarbonate Resins for Food Containers and Packaging Materials".The"Hygienic Standard"stipulates the content of BPA:phenol contained in 1 liter of distilled water must be≤0.05mg.This is a national mandatory standard.According to regulations,every PC plastic product must be tested for BPA and used in limited quantities.If the PC material is qualified,generally BPA will not exceed the standard.

　　Dong Jinshi said that the big-brand plastic bottles sold in supermarkets are quite reassuring.However,it's best to choose a BPA-free plastic bottle out of an abundance of caution.If using regular plastic feeding bottles,do not sterilize them at temperatures above 100°C or microwave them.Sterilized plastic bottles will wear out and age after repeated disinfection,resulting in an increase in the amount of BPA dissolved.It is best to replace the bottle after several months of use.
